Axe-throwing aims to hit the target with families!

by | May 3, 2024

Families can flex their muscles and get competitive this Whitsun half term with Stanwick Lakes offering an outdoor adventure with a twist – axe throwing.

Back by popular demand, the activity is suitable for children aged 11 and older and is part of a fun-packed programme of Easter activities designed to entertain all ages.

Along with ranger-led pond-dipping and den building, pottery painting and “Ancient Adventures” (a sticker trail and historical crafts), there is something for everyone, whether you want to get creative, get active or just get out the house during the school holidays.

Axe-throwing, which is running on Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th May, is the perfect way to unwind and test your skills. Axe-throwers will be given tips and coaching from a qualified instructor, so whether you are a complete beginner or you’re an axe throwing champion, sign up to make some Easter memories with a difference.

Sessions are £10 per person and must be booked in advance.

Stanwick Lakes, which is accessed off the A45, is managed as a social enterprise by Rockingham Forest Trust, an environmental charity that works to bring wide-ranging community benefits through creating and conserving special green spaces, and exploring local heritage, in ways which educate, involve and inspire.

Income from visitors to Stanwick Lakes directly supports the cost of running the site, which is self-financing.
