SUMMARY:Open Water Swimming
DESCRIPTION:For 2026\, we are pleased to offer weekly open water swimming sessions\, taking place every Friday evening throughout the summer season\, from Friday 15th May to Friday 28th August. This is our most regular programme to date\, giving swimmers the opportunity to build a consistent routine and enjoy the benefits of swimming in a unique natural setting. \nAll sessions are fully lifeguarded and supported by an experienced on-water safety team\, ensuring a safe and structured environment for open water swimming. \nAs a nature reserve and designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)\, Stanwick Lakes is subject to strict protections. SUMMARY:Mixed Media Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nIn this session\, we will combine layered water-based media with drawing tools to create unique and detailed mixed media paintings. You’ll explore various techniques to layer different materials like watercolors\, inks\, and acrylics\, adding depth and texture to your work. Alongside these\, we’ll incorporate drawing tools such as pencils and pens to refine and enhance your composition\, bringing out intricate details. \nThroughout the session\, you’ll learn how to balance and integrate these different elements\, resulting in a richly layered piece that reflects your individual style. By the end\, you’ll have completed a mixed media painting that showcases the skills and creativity developed during the class. \nYou’re welcome to dip in and out of these sessions as each is designed to be stand-alone\, or you can choose to book them in a series for a more in-depth experience. In each class\, you will join a relaxed group where new and returning painters create together in a relaxed\, drop-in style session. All levels are welcome\, whether you’re a complete beginner or have been painting for years\, simply introduce yourself to the tutor and get stuck in. There’s always something new to learn and new people to meet!
