After a safety briefing and an introduction to the creatures we’re likely to find\, we’ll head to the pond dipping platform where you will be given a pond dipping kit! The Ranger will be on hand with identification keys to help you work out which creatures you have caught as well as to share knowledge about the pond ecosystem and the many species that call it home. \nSessions last approx. 30 minutes and a responsible adult must be present throughout. \nMeet at the Ranger Cabin 5 mins before your chosen ticketed start time. \nPlease bring appropriate footwear and clothing (including sun hats) and sun cream – it can be hot on the dipping platforms! \nBelow you are booking pond dipping for Tuesday 12th August 2025. \nPlease check the date carefully before you book as refunds cannot be given.

Curious about spotting and identifying wetland birds? This beginner-friendly walk is the perfect opportunity! Designed for beginners\, but all are welcome. Bird guides and binoculars will be available to borrow on the day. \nWalk starts at 10:00am\, meet outside the Visitor Centre. \nBOOKING ESSENTIAL. DESCRIPTION:JOIN US AT STANWICK LAKES TO GET READY FOR THE WORLD’S LARGEST WILDLIFE SURVEY! \nEDIT 17.01.26 The bird ringing demonstration part of this event has been cancelled due to flooding in a part of the nature reserve. The children’s activities\, bird identification information\, Qs & As about the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and guided bird walks will still be taking place and we look forward to seeing you! (For those coming for a general visit\, Solstice Lake paths are passable and the Visitor Centre remains open.) \nAre you ready for the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch? \nOur Big Garden Birdwatch ‘warm-up’ event on the 18th of January is the perfect way to prepare!
