SUMMARY:Home Education Day Key Stage 1 & 2
DESCRIPTION:Our next Home Education Day will be on Thursday 3rd September 2026. Everyone is welcome but is best suited to learners aged 5–11 or those accessing the Key Stages 1 & 2 curriculum. \nNature: Wildflower Meadows\nAs part of a new project\, help us to improve our wildflower meadows by becoming part of our Ranger team. \nBlacksmithing Demonstration: Iron Age Britain\nLearn about the amazing changes in Iron Age Britain and watch an exciting blacksmithing demonstration to see how metal was shaped. \nCampfire Cooking\nDiscover the fun of cooking outdoors by making flatbreads and toasting marshmallows to create delicious s’mores. Vegan options are available\, but please let us know about any dietary requirements when booking. \nPlease note that this activity involves ingredients containing gluten and dairy. Food will be prepared outdoors\, and while every effort will be made to minimise cross-contamination\, we cannot guarantee that products will be free from traces of gluten or dairy. Therefore\, this activity may not be suitable for individuals with severe allergies to these ingredients. \n  \nAll children must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are welcome\, children wishing to participate must purchase a ticket.  Parking free of charge if registration is provided at time of booking. \nParking is included with your ticket. \nSpecial Conditions \nPlease note the following conditions apply to this event: \n\nPlease wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for all weather conditions.\nThe event may be cancelled or amended at short notice in the case of extreme or unsafe weather conditions (such as storms or other conditions that may present a safety risk).\nNo dogs are permitted at the event.\n\nCancellation Policy\nOnce we receive your booking form\, your booking is confirmed. If you have to cancel\, we will do our utmost to find another booking for you. However\, we are a small charity and if no booking is made\, a cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund at the appropriate rate. \n\nMore than 30 days before the event: no charge\n10 to 30 days before the event: 50% of the fee will be charged\nLess than 10 days before the event: 100% of the fee will be charged

DESCRIPTION:Our next Home Education Day for KS3 will be on Thursday 19th November 2026. Everyone is welcome but is best suited to learners aged 11-14 or those accessing the Key Stages 3 curriculum. \nThere will be three timed sessions including Owl Pellet Dissection\, Political Power: From Iron Age to Roman Britain\, and our new Become a Ranger session\, as well as more informal\, drop-in learning activities. \nOwl Pellet Dissection\nBecome a wildlife detective and uncover what our tawny owls have been eating by exploring the bones\, fur and feathers hidden inside their pellets. \nPolitical Power: From Iron Age to Roman Britain\nJoin us for a local history study and learn about the changing nature of political power from the Iron Age to the Roman period here at Stanwick Lakes. \nBecome a Ranger!\nLearn about how we manage our site and join our Ranger team to complete conservation work. \nAll children must be accompanied by an adult.
