SUMMARY:Bat Walk (Nene Valley Mammal Youth Group)
DESCRIPTION:Come and join a Bat Walk with the Nene Valley Bat Group as we look for bats around Stanwick Lakes\, and listen out for their echolocation sounds using bat detectors.\nThis bat walk is a Nene Valley Mammal Youth Group event and is designed for young people aged 11-17. Young people attending this event must be accompanied by their adult at all times. \nAccompanying adults do not need to book a separate ticket but will need to be named on the young person’s ticket – you can advise at booking stage. \nThe NVMYG has been formed to inspire young people (under age 30) to learn about mammals and take action to protect them. Young people will be able spend time outdoors\, meet like-minded people\, and develop their skills to become citizen scientists and active conservationists. The group has been set up in response to\, and with\, local young people who have a passion for nature and is part of the local network of the Mammal Society\, Britain’s leading charity devoted to the science-led conservation of mammals. \nAs this is a free event run by the Nene Valley Bat Group and Stanwick Lakes (Rockingham Forest Trust) we welcome a donation of £5 (cash) on the evening on the event.

SUMMARY:Copper Foiling Stained Glass Workshop - Butterflies and Bees
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nA fun and relaxed workshop where you will make ‘Butterflies and Bee’ suncatchers to take home\, using the basics of the Tiffany copper foil technique guided by maker Joanne Turner. \nDuring the workshop you will be guided through the process from learning to cut glass to using the copper foil\, soldering and constructing your Butterflies\, Bees\, Honeycomb\, or Beehive. \nAll equipment and materials will be provided along with refreshments and biscuits\, you just need to bring enthusiasm. No previous experience is necessary. \nPlease note that solder contains lead. Therefore\, this course is not recommended for those that are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please wear covered shoes. \nWhat’s included in the price: Tools\, materials and safety equipment are provided. \nParking is included in the ticket price. Tickets are £95 per person per one day workshop.
