You’ll learn the basics of this ancient craft – heating\, drawing out\, scrolling and twisting – to forge your very own bottle opener from red-hot steel. It’s a brilliant introduction to the forge\, and you’ll go home with a piece that’s both practical and seriously impressive at that summer BBQ! \nAll tools\, materials and safety gear are provided – just bring your curiosity and wear hard-soled foowear. (Please avoid transition lenses or auto-darkening glasses. Ages 16+\, under 18s must be supervised.)

SUMMARY:Smartphone Discovery Walk
DESCRIPTION:Discover the awe and wonder present in the natural world in this2-hour app-based smartphone workshop led by Graham Fudger. \nThe 2-hour workshop covers techniques and approaches to photographing the nature-space and includes an introduction to using the camera app\, Merlin Bird\, iNaturalist’s Seek app\, the compass app and the what.3.words location finder. \nMeeting is at the Visitor Centre at 2:00 pm. Please bring a fully charged-up smartphone and wear clothing / footwear suited to the weather on the day.This workshop is part of the Not Just Us exhibition series exploring themes of light and colour in the nature-space as seen through numerous eyes… \nThis is a FREE event – but places are limited\, pleas REGISTER BELOW. \nChildren are welcome to take part but must be accompanied by an adult and be able to bring\, or share the use of\, a smartphone for the duration of the workshop. \nThe session will begin with a 30–40 minute introduction in the Visitor Centre\, followed by approximately an hour spent outside.
