SUMMARY:Railway Stations of the old East Northamptonshire District Council
DESCRIPTION:The talk \nRailway Stations of the old East Northamptonshire District Council \nAn overview \nOver sixty years ago there were more than seventy railway stations serving their communities in Northamptonshire\, and thirteen in East Northants. I have written two books about the towns’ men who became casualties during the Great War and local news stories covering the ears 1914 to 1921 whilst also editing and contributing to the towns’ local history magazine. I also write a monthly item of local interest in the monthly Thrapston Life magazine delivered to the town\, Islip and Denford

SUMMARY:Heritage Finale Talk: The Must Farm Log Boats
DESCRIPTION:An overview:\nBetween 2009 and 2012\, the Cambridge Archaeological Unit (CAU) excavated a later prehistoric palaeochannel at the Must Farm Quarry\, Whittlesey\, Peterborough. The excavations revealed the richness of the archaeological material preserved in the channel\, including a group of nine exceptionally well preserved logboats which dated from the Middle Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age. This talk introduces the Must Farm logboats\, exploring their varied forms and the history of their deposition in the context of the river’s history. \nThe speaker:\nIona Robinson Zeki is an archaeological researcher at the Cambridge Archaeological Unit\, University of Cambridge. Her focus is on the fieldwork\, research and publication of projects investigating the prehistoric archaeology of the Fens\, specialising in the study of waterlogged wood.  She has worked on the archaeology of Must Farm since 2009\, co-authored the recent publication on the Must Farm Pile-dwelling Settlement and is currently commencing work on the publication of the Must Farm Palaeochannel\, including its most famous finds\, the Must Farm logboats.
