This free-to-enter exhibition will explore the heritage journey spanning over 40 years at Stanwick Lakes, from archaeological excavations and quarrying activities to the creation of a nature reserve, visitor centre, and transformative heritage projects.
The national significance of the site’s heritage was unearthed during early archaeological excavations prior to gravel quarrying, resulting in a large-scale rescue archaeology project across the Stanwick Lakes valley.
Discover the 10,000-year history of Stanwick Lakes through a week-long photographic exhibition, exclusive talks as part of special “Heritage Tea & Talks,” and the opportunity to join a Heritage Walk exploring the site and the latest project areas from the Bronze and Iron Ages.
The exhibition is free to enter, but car parking charges apply to support the charity.
