DESCRIPTION:Build a den at Stanwick Lakes this half term! \nA Ranger will lead your group to our den building area and introduce you to the tools and materials available\, and we’ll discuss the main properties a shelter should have if it were to be needed in a survival situation! You’ll then be set a challenge\, in your groups\, to build your own waterproof den! One of our Ranger team will be on hand to visit your shelter and hear about your chosen den-building techniques and vision and we might even test out how waterproof your shelters really are! \nSessions last approx. 60 minutes and a responsible adult must be present throughout. \nMeet at the Ranger Cabin 5 mins before and your chosen\, ticketed start time. \nPlease check our website on the day of your session for information regarding flooding – wellies may be advisable! \nPlease note no refunds will be given so check your selected date/time carefully before booking.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Ranger team in the Visitor Centre to hear about the work they have completed throughout the winter conservation season\, their wildlife highlights so far\, and their plans for the upcoming months. The talk will be followed by an optional wildlife-spotting walk around some of the key locations on site where conservation work is underway. Currently based in Milton Keynes\, she founded and hosts Bletchley’s monthly storytelling show for grownups\, Tales Tattled & Told. She has been telling tales at festivals\, schools\, care homes and multi-faith events around Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire since 2015. She had the honour of serving as 2023 Bard of Stony Stratford and is the author of the fantasy novel series The Glass Singers\, now available on Amazon and elsewhere. Old clothes are recommended \nAbout The Tutor:  \nLouise Berrill is an artist living and working in a quiet village in rural Northamptonshire. Formerly trained at Loughborough University School of Art and Design\, Louise graduated in 2006 with a BA Hons in Fine Art. In the years after\, she continued to paint alongside working in galleries. Until she had her family\, Louise taught art in a secondary school until 2013. Louise has painted and sold in galleries throughout the country and works on private commissions in the UK and internationally. SUMMARY:Glass Fusion - Garden Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In this five-hour workshop you will make a unique glass piece to fit into a copper frame for your garden. The overall display including the frame measures approximately 10cm x 34cm. You will learn how to cut glass and will have access to a wide range of transparent glass on a clear or opaque white background to make your very own bespoke piece. There will be a thirty-minute break for lunch\, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit our café. \nAfter the workshop your pieces will be taken to Sally’s studio where they will be fired  in her kiln then fixed to the copper frame.  They will be ready within 14 days of the workshop and can be collected from Lamport Hall or posted out to you for the cost of the postage. \nPlease ensure you are wearing old clothes and enclosed shoes\, i.e. no sandals.

After a safety briefing and an introduction to the creatures we’re likely to find\, we’ll head to the pond dipping platform where you will be given a pond dipping kit! DESCRIPTION:Not Just UsA digital exploration by Graham Fudger – FREE event (funded by Arts Council England). \nNot Just Us is a one-day digital exhibition referencing the awe and wonder of colour in the natural world as seen through numerous eyes. Contemporary artist Graham Fudger presents a series of 60-second video works created from scenes and details recorded at a dozen locations over the summer. \nEach video is assembled from multiple stills using the artist’s transitional hue process in Photoshop\, designed to suggest how a range of species – including our own – might visually perceive the nature-space. \nThe ExhibitionVisitors can expect an immersive visual experience featuring a series of short digital films exploring how colour appears across the natural world. The videos are displayed on large screens\, with layered still imagery that shifts through a spectrum of hues—inviting viewers to consider how different species might see the same environment. The space is designed to enhance colour and light\, offering a contemplative and visually rich encounter with the natural world through a digital lens. \nVirtual Reality ExperienceThe exhibition also includes a VR component that offers a glimpse into how insects and other creatures may experience light and colour. Visitors can explore this through a headset provided by the artist\, with additional viewing options available if supported by the venue. \nArtist In AttendanceGraham Fudger will be present throughout the event to meet visitors\, answer questions\, and support the experience.
