SUMMARY:Open Water Swimming
DESCRIPTION:For 2026\, we are pleased to offer weekly open water swimming sessions\, taking place every Friday evening throughout the summer season\, from Friday 15th May to Friday 28th August. This is our most regular programme to date\, giving swimmers the opportunity to build a consistent routine and enjoy the benefits of swimming in a unique natural setting. \nAll sessions are fully lifeguarded and supported by an experienced on-water safety team\, ensuring a safe and structured environment for open water swimming. \nAs a nature reserve and designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)\, Stanwick Lakes is subject to strict protections. DESCRIPTION:Join our rangers for a pond dipping session this May half term!\nUsing nets\, trays and magnifying glasses and guided by one of our rangers\, come and discover the creatures that live in the ponds at Stanwick Lakes! After a safety briefing and an introduction to the creatures we’re likely to find\, we’ll head to the pond dipping platform where you will be given a pond dipping kit! The Ranger will be on hand with identification keys to help you work out which creatures you have caught as well as to share knowledge about the pond ecosystem and the many species that call it home. \nThis activity is suitable for children aged 4+. \nSessions last approx. 30 minutes and a responsible adult must be present throughout.\nMeet at the Ranger Cabin 5 mins before and your chosen\, ticketed start time.\nPlease check our website on the day of your session for information regarding flooding – wellies may be advisable! \nPlease take a moment to check the date and time and make sure they work for your plans before booking\, as tickets are non-refundable.

SUMMARY:Mixed Media Sunset Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nThis creative workshop has been designed especially for children aged 10 and over\, teenagers and young adults (10-18 years). It will combine drawing\, painting and collage to produce a mixed media sunset masterpiece. It will take place in the Discovery Zone at Stanwick Lakes. \nPlease note\, wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty as you will be using paints and glue at this workshop. \n(Under 18s who take part in this workshop will need an accompanying adult to be on site at Stanwick Lakes for the duration of the workshop).
