SUMMARY:Open Water Swimming
DESCRIPTION:For 2026\, we are pleased to offer weekly open water swimming sessions\, taking place every Friday evening throughout the summer season\, from Friday 15th May to Friday 28th August. This is our most regular programme to date\, giving swimmers the opportunity to build a consistent routine and enjoy the benefits of swimming in a unique natural setting. \nAll sessions are fully lifeguarded and supported by an experienced on-water safety team\, ensuring a safe and structured environment for open water swimming. \nAs a nature reserve and designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)\, Stanwick Lakes is subject to strict protections. DESCRIPTION:Family friendly workshops: Create a personal offering inspired by the ancient world! \nLearn about Roman beliefs and traditions in this thoughtful\, hands-on workshop exploring votive offerings – objects given to the gods as symbols of hope\, gratitude\, or healing. \nYou’ll then be guided in sculpting your own meaningful clay piece\, inspired by authentic Roman examples and their stories – including one of our favourite Roman archaeological finds from Stanwick Lakes\, a copper alloy frog! \nLed by sculptor and artist Lisa Lovett of Earthly Art Studio as part of the Festival of Archaeology at Stanwick Lakes. \nEach workshop activity has suggested age ranges provided\, however\, we accept parent/guardian discretion.\nAll children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

SUMMARY:Summer Art Club: Flower Meadows
DESCRIPTION:Summer Art Club: Flower Meadows\nA new Summer Art Club session for children aged 7–12 years inspired by the colours\, shapes and textures of flower meadows. \nIn this session\, children will design and build their own richly textured meadow scene\, exploring layering\, pattern\, collage and colour. Using simple circular forms as a starting point\, they’ll develop a lively composition full of detail and movement\, while gaining confidence working with different materials and techniques. The focus is on experimentation\, creative decision-making and enjoying the process of making artwork from start to finish. \nThe session is led by professional artist Emma\, who brings extensive experience in both fine art and education. After completing a Fine Art and Art History degree at Newcastle University\, Emma has worked in heritage and learning environments alongside her own creative practice in painting\, drawing and printmaking. Her work has been published in art books and guides\, and exhibited at venues including Covent Garden in London and the Hatton Gallery in Newcastle. She now focuses on delivering engaging art workshops for adults and children\, encouraging creativity and confidence in a supportive setting. \nAll materials are provided. Parking is included in the ticket price. \nEach workshop activity has suggested age ranges provided\, however\, we accept parent/guardian discretion.\nAll children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. \n  \nCancellation Policy  \nCancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the session are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances\, please speak to our team so we can discuss how we may be able to accommodate you. \nUnder the Consumer Contracts Regulations\, bookings made online may be eligible for a 14-day cooling-off period. However\, if the session is scheduled to take place within this period\, this right no longer applies. \nIf the booking is made directly with Stanwick Lakes\, we ask that all cancellation requests must be made by via email to: info@rftrust.org.uk and should include your full name\, booking reference (if available)\, session date or title\, and reason for cancellation.
