Learn at The Lakes
Our Vision
Nestled in the heart of the Nene Valley Stanwick Lakes offers a wide-ranging learning programme that aims to educate, involve, and inspire young people in both nature, heritage, and adventure! To us this means encouraging young people to develop the knowledge and skills that they need to find meaning in our natural and cultural landscapes, encouraging a sense of belonging for all, and most importantly encouraging a lasting love of learning.
What We Offer
NATURE
Immerse yourself in nature!
As an important part of the Nene Valley Special Protection Area (SPA), a designated Wetland of International Importance, and as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), our school sessions offer unique opportunities to learn about the natural world. Led by our highly skilled Rangers, each of our sessions are designed to support both national curriculum learning and holistic development.
HERITAGE
Travel back through 10,000 years of history in the Nene Valley!
As a nationally significant site, with an ancient scheduled monument (one of a series of interlinked Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows) and archaeological evidence that supports over 10,000 years of human history, our school sessions also offer unique opportunities for young people to connect with the ancient past through our living history and experimental archaeology experiences. Developed as a result of a forty-year legacy of archaeological research, each of our sessions are designed to support both national curriculum learning and further learning outside the classroom.
