Making Play Accessible: Join Our Family Fun Day Fundraiser!

by | Jul 8, 2024

We’re very excited for an event coming up at Stanwick Lakes that you won’t want to miss! We’re kicking off our fundraising campaign for an accessible playground with a Family Fun Day on Sunday, 14th July. Our goal is to create a space where more children can enjoy play at our nature reserve.

What can you expect at our event?

We’ve planned a day filled with activities for all ages, including axe-throwing, live music, bouncy castles, local artisan craft stalls, face painting, and Ranger Rita’s Animal Adventure, courtesy of the Laugh Out Loud Theatre Company. It’s going to be a day packed with fun and entertainment!

Why are we doing this?

We believe that everyone should have equal access to play and explore the outdoors. That’s why we’re raising funds to add more accessible play equipment to the play areas here at Stanwick Lakes. These new pieces will include features like an accessible roundabout and swings suitable for wheelchairs, alongside improved pathways.

Your support at this event will make a huge difference. Together, we aim to raise £10,000 to complement the funding we’ve already secured for the playground equipment. Every pound raised will go directly towards creating a more inclusive environment where children of all abilities can play together without barriers.

Join us on July 14th from 10am to 4pm for a day of community, laughter, and giving back. While the event is free to attend, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to donate and support our cause. Car parking fees on the day will also contribute to our fundraising efforts.
