Nest Box Talk

Did you know, we have nearly 40 nest boxes at Stanwick Lakes, providing vital nesting spaces for birds? This gives us the chance to monitor the bird population on the reserve and contribute data to national bird recording schemes.
On Saturday 14th November at 1.30pm, we will be hosting a talk on by local ornithologist and BTO-licensed nest recorder, Ian Wrisdale in the Visitor Centre at Stanwick Lakes. The talk will take a behind-the-scenes look at nest box recording, why it matters, what data is collected, and how it contributes to long-term bird conservation. Ian will also share practical advice on how to put up, position, and maintain nest boxes, helping you make the most of them in your own garden or green space.
The talk is suitable for adults and young scientists aged 10+ with an interest in nature.
Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for children
