Heritage Craft Courses at Stanwick Lakes
If you’re interested in heritage crafts, and would like to learn some of the skills involved, take a look at the Heritage Craft Courses we offer in our green oak craft barn at Stanwick Lakes, Northamptonshire. We offer a range of craft courses once practised in the area, including blacksmithing, spoon carving, woodcarving and tinsmithing workshops.
Almost all of our classes are limited to between 3 and 6 people, ensuring that everyone is given plenty of individual support, enjoys their day and leaves with a sense of achievement. We believe that if you’ve had a great experience with high quality training then you might want to come back again!

Our Testimonials
In February 2024, Stanwick Lakes became a Diamond award-winning craft course provider. This is in recognition of our work teaching and passing on crafting in the UK, as well as gaining over 250 five-star reviews from our course attendees.
“Totally loved it – a great experience that gives you much greater appreciation of the craft. John is really patient and walks you through the steps while also letting you get on and do the thing. A really welcoming environment and couldn’t have asked for more.”
“A great course that has fired me up to take stained glass making to the next level. Holding the course in the Trading Places barn at Stanwick Lakes enhanced the experience, as it was like being on the set of the Repair Shop!”
“Fantastic course – fantastic tutor. Lovely pace, great knowledge & beautiful place. Would recommend 2 day courses as it’s a lot to get in the one day. Keep this course going as they are dying out too fast!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Thank you John for sharing your skills! I would definitely recommend this course particularly for people with little experience like myself. I now have a wonderful stool in pride of place.”
