The Visitor Centre closes at 5pm.  Café is open until 3pm, or 4pm during weekends and the school holidays.

Please note, the waterplay feature is closed Monday mornings for routine cleaning and maintenance.

Visitor Opening Times

From 28th March – 30th September the site is open from 7am – 7pm.
Cars left in the car park after this time risk being locked in overnight.

Please note:
The Visitor Centre Café closes at 3pm on weekdays, however on weekends, bank holidays, and during school holidays it will close at 4.30pm with last hot food orders at 4pm. The shop and toilets remain open until 5pm everyday.

The main toilets are only open when the Visitor Centre is open.
Outdoor toilets are are locked at night when the carpark is also locked.

Our Changing Places facility is now open.

Car Parking Charges

Parking fees provide the charity with income to support the upkeep of the reserve., at a variable rate for each season (see table below).
The site is free to those who walk or cycle in.

The pay machines accept card and cash.

Instructions for ANPR car park

On arrival

A camera will record your vehicle registration number when you enter Stanwick Lakes. No tickets are issued.

On departure

If you are a member:

Simply drive out. If your registration number is registered with us the exit barrier will raise as you approach it.

If you are not a member:

You don’t need to do anything until you are ready to leave.

When you are ready to leave, go to one of the payment machines. One accept cards and cash (with change given) and one is card only.

Enter your full registration number and pay the amount shown on the screen. Your payment is complete.

You have plenty of time to return to your vehicle and exit Stanwick Lakes.

When you approach the exit barrier, the camera will recognise your registration number, know that you have paid and the barrier will rise automatically.

 

Coach Parking Charges

There is limited parking for coaches for which there is a charge of £30 per coach.

(Please note that anything larger than an 18 seater is classed as a coach.)

This is effectively an admission charge for use of the facilities, and it applies whether large groups are dropped off or the coach stays on site. Please contact us (01933 625522) in advance to book a coach parking space.

Access For All

The majority of the site’s facilities are wheelchair accessible, including the visitor centre, toilets, rangers’ log cabin, bird hide, the network of footpaths and cycle paths, and areas within the central adventure playground. A lift is situated in the café area to allow disabled visitors to access the mezzanine seating area where the archaeological finds are kept, including the section of Roman floor mosaic.
