Heritage Walk – From Iron to Empire

Find out more about our heritage project: From Iron to Empire!
Find out about the Iron Age and Roman history of Stanwick Lakes on this informative guided walk with Heritage Coordinator Nadia Norman, marking the official launch of the From Iron to Empire heritage project.
Explore how the ancient landscapes of the Bronze and Iron Ages shaped a successful farming valley, and how changes in technology, culture and land use transformed everyday life over time. Tracing the story from early farmsteads to the rise of a Roman villa estate, this walk reveals how the people of the Nene Valley adapted to profound cultural and environmental change — leaving traces that still shape the landscape we see today.
