Wild About Harvest Mice (age 11-17)

This event is designed for ages 11-17 in partnership with the Nene Valley Mammal Youth Group.
Young people attending this even must be accompanied by their adult at all times. Accompanying adults go free.
Join us for a hands-on Harvest Mouse Survey and help make a real difference for wildlife. Learn how to identify suitable habitat, search for harvest mouse nests, and collect valuable data that contributes to a national citizen science project. No previous experience is needed – just an interest in nature and a willingness to explore. This is a great opportunity to develop practical wildlife survey skills, connect with like-minded people, and take positive action for conservation. Every survey helps improve our understanding of harvest mouse populations and helps us to protect the harvest mouse population at Stanwick Lakes.

The NVMYG has been formed to inspire young people (under age 30) to learn about mammals and take action to protect them. Young people will be able spend time outdoors, meet like-minded people, and develop their skills to become citizen scientists and active conservationists. The group has been set up in response to, and with, local young people who have a passion for nature and is part of the local network of the Mammal Society, Britain’s leading charity devoted to the science-led conservation of mammals.
