2-Day Stained Glass Workshop

Course Overview:

This two-day course gives you an introduction to the traditional method of stained-glass making. This course in traditional method of stained-glass construction will give you an insight into this ancient craft. You will be fully guided through the process and given lots of tips, tricks, insight, and appreciation of stained-glass window-making.

The course will start with an introduction to the art of stained glass, the design, and how we ‘paint with light’, including the equipment and tools used to do this. You will quickly move on to the practical aspect by learning how to score and break glass. This will be followed by practice cutting glass to a design until you’re ready to start cutting the coloured glass for your main project. You can either use one of the designs provided or bring along a design of your own.

There will be a full demonstration of the process of constructing a panel at each stage, and we will discuss the tools and techniques being used. Work will be focused on building and finishing your stained-glass panel by leading, soldering and cementing your design piece which you’ll finish in time to take home.
