As a nationally significant site, with an ancient scheduled monument (one of a series of interlinked Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows) and archaeological evidence that supports over 10,000 years of history, our school sessions offer unique opportunities, for young people to connect with the ancient past, and immerse themselves in our living history experience. Stone Age
Key Question: How did people survive the Stone Age?
Session Description: Travel back in time to explore our seasonal Stone Age camp and take part in activities that reflect the daily life of a Mesolithic hunter-gatherer, including fire lighting, shelter building, hunting and natural art.
Session Length: 90 mins
Curriculum Links: Best suited to establishing a clear narrative within and across the Stone Age and developing a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to Iron Age.

Bronze Age
Key Question: Who brought the Bronze Age to Britain?
Session Description: Visit our Beaker settlement and take part in activities that reflect Bronze Age religion, technology and travel, including creating ceremonial beaker pots, jewellery making, trade and boat building techniques.
Session Length: 90 mins
Curriculum Links: Best suited to establishing a clear narrative within and across the Bronze Age and developing a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of the changes in Britain from Stone Age to Iron Age.

Iron Age
Key Question: How did technology shape the Iron Age?
Session Description: Travel back in time to explore our Iron Age settlement and take part in activities that reflect Iron Age tribal kingdoms, farming, art and culture, including defending the tribe, using our rotary quern to make grain and creating textiles.
Session Length: 90 mins
Curriculum Links: Best suited to establishing a clear narrative within and across the Iron Age and developing a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of the changes in Britain from Stone Age to Iron Age.
