Stanwick Lakes Receives National Lottery Heritage Grant

by | Mar 4, 2024

Stanwick Lakes is thrilled to announce the organisation has been awarded a Resilience Grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. This pivotal grant marks a significant milestone in Stanwick Lakes’ ongoing mission to enhance its heritage offerings, bolster environmental infrastructure, and introduce key roles to drive fundraising and educational initiatives.

The grant would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of National Lottery players.

With this Resilience Grant, Stanwick Lakes will continue on a journey of sustainable growth and connection with the local community. By strengthening commercial endeavours and enhancing visitor experiences, the charity aims to secure its position as a leading advocate and steward of environmental and heritage conservation.

The funding will enable Stanwick Lakes to implement several strategic initiatives. These include the continued development of heritage experiences, inviting visitors to delve into the site’s rich history through curated exhibits, guided tours, and interactive displays. New opportunities dedicated to fundraising and educational programs will also be introduced, essential for expanding the charity’s network of support and community engagement. These roles aim to secure vital funding, and develop innovative educational initiatives. Additionally, the grant will support crucial infrastructure enhancements, such as exploring sustainable energy, and adding further solar panels to the main building, leading to the long-term sustainability of the site.

The Resilience Grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund underscores the Stanwick Lakes commitment to its stakeholders, as well as the charity’s aim to safeguard the habitat’s global significance and preserving the cultural heritage on site, for future generations to enjoy.

“We are thrilled to be awarded this grant and thank The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their support,” remarked Billie Paschier, Trust Director of Rockingham Forest Trust, the organisation that manages Stanwick Lakes. “This funding will help the charity embark on an exciting new chapter, empowering us to enhance our offerings, and deepen community engagement, through new technologies and reinforced infrastructure. With this support, we are confident in our ability to secure a sustainable future for Stanwick Lakes and continue enriching the lives of all who visit.”
